Band, *1999 GB, London
Electronic and Pop
A.k.a. Alexander Mayor, Senay Sargut, Tim Benton
The inspiration for the bands name comes from Leo Baxendale, who was a famous british comic illustrator. Baxendale plays very catchy, groovy euro synth pop, simple but very effective. A reference point would be Pet Shop Boys, maybe. Consisting of singer and synth player Tim Benton, fellow vocalist and keyboardist Senay Sargut, and guitarist Alexander Mayor, the three-piece collected its various efforts onto a debut collection in 2000 "You Will Have Your Revenge", released in America by the like-minded souls at Le Grand Magistery.
