Baxters

Band,
Alternative

Time To Burn, Flying Donuts, Warehouse, Gravity Slaves, Gameness, Nesseria, Hoggboy, Aqme, Headcases, Mr Protector… ----------- The line-up of the band stabilizes and the music of the Baxters becomes tougher. The metamorphosis has begun. First, under the influence of the different sounds they listen, the 4 guys -from Orleans- are going to strengthen their music. The 2 LPs of this period (Lies in 2004 and Insanity and Illusions in 2005) recorded by Dude -once again- and PE (sound engineer for the Burning Heads, Poney Club and the Gravity Slaves) show the new direction taken by the group. Each disc lays the foundations of a more and more tortured music. the compositions slow down, the guitar is heavier, the sound becomes more noisy. The songs remain simple, the group tends toward more efficiency, the music becomes more spiritual. The music of the Baxters reminds you their elder brothers Helmet, Unsane, Tantrum or Sleeppers. In 2007, the drummer also joins the Gravity Slaves, playing for the 2 bands. The first album of the band is released at the end of 2008. The work of composition and recording on Subintrant Crisis lasted for more than 1 year. The band , member of the PPM crew(Gravity Slaves, Devon Miles, Burning Heads), uses the power of all the homies and records 10 tracks with the soundmaker of the crew, Pierre « Sampras » from the Burning Heads and Dude. The 2 friends record and mix the disc in Bou DC Studio, near Orléans and the mastering is made by Nick Zampiello at the New Alliance East Studio in Boston, the cradle of many recordings by Unsane, Converge, Coliseum or Cortez. For this production, the quality is present. Between American noise hardcore and Swiss coldness, the Baxters’ universe is perfectly translated on this album. The atmosphere is stifling, the music becomes an exhaust outlet, the drums knock while the heavy bass is still groovy, the guitars and the vocals scream but the whole remains full of rock and roll energy. We can also find this emergency in the shows given by the band, with a technical precision and an impressive loud power, reminding their earlier influences. In spite of the difficulty of access for that kind of music, the baxters have already played in pubs and concert halls with Time to Burn, Warehouse, Flying Donuts, Gravity Slaves, Nesseria, Gameness, Aqme, Hogboy, Headcases, Mr Protector…
