Album AU 2001 on Vibe Republic label
Dance (Progressive House, Progressive Trance, Breaks)
This CD has 14 track markers, however as this was limited edition promo, there are no credits to the artist or labels that appear on this mix. Recorded 28 July 2001 at Nutribe Studios – Sydney, Australia. Using 3x Technics 1200s, a Pioneer DJM 500. Now some words from ITM: Vibe Republic presents “The Sounds Of Sydney – A Nu tribe” This CD is a promo release only, professionally mixed, licensed and manufactured; it is limited to 300 copies only!! This recording was inspired by “A Night With John Digweed” at The Chevron, Melbourne, January 12th 2001. This double disc was compiled, programmed and mixed in a combined effort by Ben and Trent. In a club environment, they are NOT a back-to-back DJ team, rather their individual styles, although parallel, compliment and contrast each other. The point of this CD is to showcase an otherwise unrepresented style of music within Sydney clubland. The tracks chosen for the mix have been firmly housed in the DJs’ record boxes over the past 6 months. This CD is not a manifesto of what Ben Korbel and Trent Anthony restrict themselves to doing, but rather it demonstrates the possibilities of what they can do and would like to further embrace. Above all, it’s just the music that makes them fuckin’ ‘av it :o)!!!
