Another release that looks like a real cheap bootleg... Haven't the slightest idea about who the other members of the band or vocalists are, and since Ben Selvin seems to have left a really rich legacy of recordings (with a revolving door of competent but anonymous musicians), chances of finding the right line-up are microscopic... The same goes for exact recording dates. However - if there's any Selvin expert out there: feel free to educate us! Here's a line-up from June 18th recording session I managed to find: Bunny Berigan, Ruby Weinstein - trumpets Tommy Dorsey - trombone Benny Goodman - clarinet/alto sax Lou Martin - alto sax Hymie Wolfson - tenor sax Ben Pobersky - violin Rube Bloom - piano Carl Kress - guitar Hank Stern - tuba Milt Schlesinger - drums/xylophone Milt Coleman - ukulele/vocal Ben Selvin - director Name of the band is Chester Leighton & His Sophomores Translucent Green vinyl.
