Benil Steimer has made field recordings since 1985. Especially in India but also in other countries such as Sicily, Germany and Sweden. These recordings can be heard under the name The Old Monk's Experience. Field recordings have also been used in Benils music projekts Ekiwojjolo and Death Must Die. Ekiwojjolo was founded in 2010 and Death Must Die was founded in 2018 by Benil. Benil often collaborates with local Uppsala musicians such as Peter Nylund (2), Krister Nonnemark (2) and Jonas Jansson (3).
