Born: 9 December 1927 Leeds, Yorkshire Died: 22 June 1998 Marsden, Surrey Cockney-accented British jazz saxophonist, broadcaster, journalist, composer and author. Most well known for his BBC Radio 2 shows. Has penned a large number of liner notes for various jazz albums as well as being a keen film critic and cricket enthusiast. His son Leo Green is also a jazz saxophonist.
