Electronic and Rock
Berlin Brides are an Athens-based duo comprising of singer/lyricist Natasha Giannaraki and keyboardist/composer Marilena Orfanou. They met in Athens in the summer of 2007, rehearsed together and decided to form a band the following September. They play an explosive mix of electro, punk & power pop and are renown for their caustic lyrics and electrifying live performances. They have toured all over Greece and have played alongside CocoRosie, Kap Bambino, Jessie Evans, and at Ejekt festival (Athens, 2009) with Subways, Klaxons, Jarvis Cocker and Röyksopp. They performed in the UK for the first time in June 2009 at Buffalo Bar, London, as winners of the Velvet Magazine competition. It was awarded to them by Artrocker Magazine, which labeled their self-released EP Failure To Wank as one of the two best releases of 2008. That performance granted them a slot for the New Bands Stage at Offset Festival in September 2009. In October 2010 they performed at Indie Week festival in Toronto, Canada. Their debut single, Rejection Junkie / Off The Rack, was released in June 2010 and their debut album, Modern Celibacy, in October 2010 by Inner Ear.
