Spoken Word (Field Recording)
Common Potoo: Courtesy of Florida State Museum of Natural History Bio-acoustic Laboratory: Ben B. Coffey Jr., recordist. "African Song Cycle is a wonderfully dynamic 24-hour day-night cycle of animal events at an African Waterhole in Kenya. Wildebeests and colobus monkeys join a hammerkop as the sun rises above the horizon. Later in the day mating crested cranes, elephants, masked weaver birds, lions, a giant forest pig, hippos, and a chorus of tree hyrax all lend their wonderful voices to this natural theatre. Natural Voices is made up of the sounds of living creatures of all sizes from protozoa to whales, the largest living mammals." Track times are as written in the cover insert, and differ slightly from those obtained by reading the CD using iTunes: 16:33 and 17:00, respectively. The CD title as printed on the label art is reversed from that printed on the cover, and reads "African Song Cycle" / "Natural Voices."
