American composer, pianist, bandleader, producer (Philadelphia, PA, Nov 22, 1917 - ✝ Wyncote, PA, Sep 1, 1993,). In 1955 started with Teen records. In 1956 with lyricist Kal Mann founded Cameo Records, later expanded into a subsidiary Parkway. Here signed Ernest Evans, an unknown singer who changed name to Chubby Checker, thus Cameo Parkway becoming one of the largest independent labels in US. Love has also helped launch and career of Bobby Rydell, Dee Dee Sharp, The Tymes, The Orlons, The Dovells.
