BETRAYER, thrash metal band in Indonesia, has existed since 1991. After had several formation changes, now the band’s members are: Iik (vocal+guitar), Garry (lead guitar), Doddy (bass) In 1996, BETRAYER recorded their two-inches-master at triple M studio for the first time. They released indie label album titled Grand Voice Society, which sold over 1000 copies in 1 month without any mass media publications. In 1997, Rotorcorps from Musica Studio released their single on underground compilation album, Metalik Klinik 1. BETRAYER’s single, Bendera Kuning, became a big hits. Metalik Klinik 1 has sold for more than 100.000 copies. Independen Record from Aquarius Musikindo bought their first master in 1998. It was re-mastering in Australia. Pasukan Berani Mati – major label version from album Grand Voice Society – was released by Independen / Aquarius. Pasukan Berani Mati has sold over 15.000 copies with no television promotions. This album also released in Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei by Pony Canyon Record. On June 2001, BETRAYER began their recording process for their third album at 21 studio and Gin’s studio. After mastering process at 301 studio, Sydney, Australia, by Don Bartley, BETRAYER’s third album titled Betrayer was released on January 2002. In this album, BETRAYER played various concepts, but still straight on thrash metal path. Their hits single on this album, a metal ballads song named Damai Bersamamu, was more softly than their usual repertoires, with much acoustical senses. Damai Bersamamu music video raised the sold number over 20.000 copies. In January 2004, BETRAYER released their 4th album, named BETRAYER 04. With 11 new songs and 1 remix Bendera Kuning (that song is BETRAYER’s first debut on underground scene). On this album, BETRAYER explore their basic music – thrash metal – and blend it with modern sounds. In 2005, their release the best album - the compilation from four album with two new songs. The Best album has sold over 18.000 copies. In 2008, BETRAYER released album Revolution. In this Revolution album, BETRAYER able to sell 30.000 copies distributed by Aquarius Musikindo. This is the best selling of BETRAYER album, during period of their history. Now, they are ready to release a new album in 2011. For information, on one f the song from this lates album, BETRAYER invited guitarist, drummer, vocalis, and also the bassist from every leading metal band in indonesia to work on that song in BK Studio.
