A.k.a. Bhai Harbans Singh Ji (Jagadhri Wale)
Bhai Harbans Singh Ji (Jagadhri Wale) (1 March 1940 - 13 May 2011) was a famous Sikh ragi and performer of Gurbani kirtan. He was born near a town called Jhang, which is now in Pakistan. After partition, he came to India and was based for nearly 40 years in the town of Ludhiana, Punjab, India. Bhai Harbans Singh was an exceptional vocalist with a melodious voice and an able harmonium player. He and his jatha (groups) played a mix of both classical raga and modern raga mostly with Bhai as the lead vocalist and accompanied by harmonium and tabla. He performed throughout India and in many other parts of the world. He has produced many hundreds of cassette tapes, CDs and videos of kirtan and katha.
