Bhopal Stiffs

Band, IN
Alternative

Hardcore punk band from Chicago, IL who existed from 1985 until 1989. Their name was inspired by a 1984 environmental disaster in Bhopal, India. The original line-up consisted of Vince Marine (vocals/guitar), Larry Damore (vocals/guitar), Steve Saylors (bass) and Dave Schleitwiler (drums). Marine left in 1988 and was replaced on guitar by Ron Lowe, while Damore took over all the lead vocals. During their lifetime, the band issued a demo cassette, one 7" single, and one 12" EP. Following their split, Saylors and Damore formed Pegboy with ex-Naked Raygun guitarist John Haggerty and his younger brother, Joe (formerly of Bloodsport and The Effigies). The band played a reunion show in 2001.
