Album US 1966 on Emco Records label
Jazz and Pop (Easy Listening)
From the liner notes: In spite of the Big Sound the Bi-Du's are only two very talented men - Jim Kimmel and Larry Moran. Jim and Larry formed the duo in 1962 and have been playing clubs and nite spots throughout Michigan ever since. The Bi-Du's have played continuously at the Caberfae Lodge since their first engagement in the fall of 1965. and their popularity has increased each nite - prompting the recording of this album at the private local studio (EMCO) for the listening pleasure of their fans. Both men are accomplished musicians with a great flare for the unusual and are extremely versatile as this their first album will show. Larry plays all the solo work, switching from piano to organ to clavietta to marimba, all the time handling the jump-cymbal. Generally he plays any two of the instruments plus the cymbal simultaneously. Jim rounds out the group-sound by playing the bass fiddle and drums simultaneously while doing the vocals. At times the boys depart from the complicated assortment of instruments to stroll among the crowd with Jim playing the guitar and doing the vocals while Larry carries the melody on the clavietta. On this record two songs, "The Girl From Ipanema" and "Mack The Knife" are offered this way. Whether it be for dining, dancing or just listening pleasure we are sure you will enjoy the unusual talents of these two men - and those of you who have spent an evening or two in the Sitzmark Lounge at the Caberfae Lodge will reminisce and recall these delightful and propulsive tunes as you enjoy the album.
