voc, 1922-2003 US, Darlington, South Carolina
Singer / Songwriter of World, Pop, Folk and Jazz
A.k.a. William Trader

Bill Trader (May 1, 1922 - October 26, 2003) was an American song-writer and singer. Though he wrote and sang other of his songs professionally, this songwriter remains primarily remembered for writing the ballad "(Now and Then There's) A Fool Such as I" which became a hit for Hank Snow, Jo Stafford, Elvis Presley, and Petula Clark (with a French version), and has since been recorded by many other artists. He also wrote 'A Fool Such As I', recorded by Bob Dylan on Dylan (1973), although on some versions he is wrongly credited as B. Abner.
