Bill Avery

Bill Avery, a still photographer. With no formal training, he learned his trade first hand while working at Columbia Pictures. During WWII He was a combat cameraman/photographer. After the war he returned to Columbia. Later in his career he was employed by MGM, Paramount, 20th Century Fox, Columbia, ABC and CBS. Along with the movie studios Avery did magazine photography, shooting layouts. Some of his noted clients were, Elvis Presley, Shirley MacLaine, Jack Lemmon, Katharine Hepburn and Audrey Hepburn.
