British double bass (and banjo) player - 1957-61 starting with local bands - 1961 Barry Martyn's Camelia Band, accompanying Kid Shiek and then Kid Thomas Valentine and Emanuel Paul He also played sousaphone with the New Teao Brass Band. After stints with leading London bands - October 1964 joining Ken Colyer which included recording with George Lewis (2) - 1969 moving to Nottingham where he accompanied Bud Freeman and recorded with Albert Nicholas - recorded with Peanuts Hucko and on sousaphone with Dejan's Olympia Brass Band. - later he joined Kid Thomas And His Algiers Stompers - 1998 taking over with Ken Matthews - also played with Black Snake Jazz Band, the Oriele Parade Band
