This compilation includes tracks from "MUSIC FOR TORCHING" (Clef LP: MGC 669) [Tracks 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 13, 15 and 17] and "VELVET MOODS" (Clef LP: MGC 713)[Tracks 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 11, 14 and 16], as well as two additional tracks: Tracks 12 and 18 from THE COMPLETE BILLIE HOLIDAY ON VERVE 1945-1959 (CD-issue Verve 513859-2). Recorded at Radio Recorders, Hollywood, California on August 23 [Tracks 1 to 8] & August 25 [Tracks 9 to 17], 1955 and at Shapiro's home in Los Angeles, California on August 22, 1955 [Track 18]. Digitally remastered at Polygram Studios. International release distributed in Europe, Australia (release date July 3rd 1995) and elsewhere.
