Billy Bond

voc, acg, perc, bvoc, *1944 BR, La Spezia
Singer / Producer of Rock and Pop
A.k.a. Giuliano Canterini

Italian-born Argentine singer and producer, also known as El Bondo. He began his musical career with Los Bobby Cats, later he formed the Beat group Los Guantes Negros together with Ricardo lew and Willy Verdaguer. A fundamental person on the history of Argentine Rock. He proposed to Bravo, his co-owner of the local bar La Cueva de Passarotus, to turn the place from a Jazz pub into a Beat meeting place, accepting young musicians, and renamed it La Cueva. Soon after the place became the focal point of the underground "Beat" movement and the birthplace of Argentine Rock. In the early 70s Bond would found, together with Jorge Álvarez, La Pesada Del Rock And Roll, known as La Pesada (2). Originally meant as a "free" back up band for Billy (As Billy Bond Y La Pesada Del Rock And Roll), where artists would come and go freely, it also worked with many other artists. He also had a career as producer, producing albums for Sui Generis (4)'s Vida, Raul Porchetto's Cristo Rock and many solo albums from the members of La Pesada. After the fourth album with La Pesada, in the mid 70s, Billy moved to Brazil. There he would produce albums for artists like Ney Matogrosso and Serú Girán's first album. He kept living in Brazil after democracy returned to Argentina.
