Country and Blue Grass bass player. Born February 26, 1926, in Memphis, Hall County, Texas and younger brother of Bob Wills and Johnnie Lee Wills. Western swing band leader of The Texas Playboys, the band formed around his brother Bob. The group's success, however, was short-lived. In 1954, Bob Wills disbanded the Texas Playboys. Billy Jack struggled on without success until 1960, when he retired from music. He died on March 2, 1991 in Oklahoma.
