A.k.a. Wilfred Williams

American singer, born on December 28, 1910, in Waco, Texas; died July 16, 1984, in New York City. He started his career as the lead singer for the Charioteers in 1930. He left the band in 1950 and formed the Billy Williams Quartet. Worked with Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby among others. He retired from music after losing his voice in the early 1960s due to diabetes.
