Black Face is a punk rock band from California formed in 2011 by vocalist Eugene Robinson (Oxbow, ex-Whipping Boy) and bassist Chuck Dukowski (ex-Black Flag, SWA, the Chuck Dukowski Sextet) with the intent of exploring and recording songs that Chuck had written during his tenure in Black Flag but, for one reason or another, had never recorded or released with the band. The rest of Black Face was rounded out by drummer Tom Dobrov (ex-Oxbow) and Dukowski's son, Milo Gonzalez (the Chuck Dukowski Sextet, Insects vs. Robots) on guitar. They released their first single in the fall of 2011, but broke up shortly after in February 2012. In July 2013, Robinson announced that he and Dubrov were relaunching the band with new members and were planning to move forward with new material.
