Black Roses are billed as Swaziland's best reggae band and was formed haphazardly at a tourist backpacker's hotel near Manzini, Swaziland in September 2000. At the time, the six-piece unit could boast members from the UK, Swaziland and Mozambique. They have chalked up several successful concerts at various music and arts festivals both at home and in Mozambique, as well as various charity concerts with their roots reggae, soul and 'Afribeat'. The band's self-financed debut album "Love Is More Than Just....." was released in 2001 in a limited quantity of 500 units.
