A day later from him passing away, Toker made an emotional video paying respect to Blackie Fontana and spoke highly of 'em and Toker made it known that he was close to signing him to East Town Records. in the video Toker said "that youngster had a bright future man, bright bright bright future man, he knew what he was doing, who schooled him i don't know but this fool had game, he picked up game from somebody, he was a bright ass young fool, kept it real, i was barely getting ready to locked horns with him and get down to the nitty gritty cause i liked everything he said, i liked everything that came out of his mouth, good youngster". By Jeanette Marantos Posted Oct. 25, 2017 Roberto Diaz, a 32-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Saturday, Oct. 21, in the 18800 block of Elizondo Street in the South San Jose Hills area of the San Gabriel Valley, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records. Investigators have very little information about what happened the night Diaz and another man, Arthur Samuel Romero, 51, were shot and killed outside a home in the residential cul-de-sac at 7:49 p.m., said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Derrick Alfred. “It looks like there was a party at the house, but by the time deputies got there, everybody had left, except the decedents on the ground. ... They all just bugged out,” Alfred said. The home's owners told investigators they had a social gathering and had heard the gunfire, but they didn’t see the shooting or what precipitated it, Alfred said. Diaz, who lived in Pomona, was found lying in the driveway, Alfred said. Romero, who lived in Covina, was found lying on the sidewalk outside the house. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene, according to coroner’s records. Diaz was pronounced at 8:22 p.m. Romero was pronounced dead at 8:23 p.m. Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
