Bob Cavallo first drew attention for assembling 60s pop group The Lovin' Spoonful. Partnering with Joe Ruffalo and, later, Steve Fargnoli, he managed a variety of platinum acts, including Earth, Wind & Fire and Little Feat. In the 1980s, he helped guide Prince to international fame, and co-produced the Purple One's movie vehicles (Purple Rain and Under The Cherry Moon). In the 1990s, Cavallo co-founded 3rd Rail, managing alternative rock stars like Green Day, Weezer, and Alanis Morrissette. Cavallo currently serves as chairman of Buena Vista Music Group.
