Spoken Word (Interview)
In the mid-60s, change was everywhere. Bob Dylan had prophesied these events some years earlier, and was now at the forefront of the transformation. So, to the anger and disbelief of the purists, he left behind the folk movement and the protest songs and took on a new persona with an electric guitar and a full-on rock band backing his every utterance. This CD is a fascinating, previously undocumented look at what Dylan was thinking during this evolutionary and pivotal stage in his career. Bringing together recordings of press conferences held in San Francisco and Los Angeles during late ’65, and completing the package with the notorious interview undertaken by Martin Bronstein while in Canada early the next year, this is a timely reminder of what was going on in the Dylan camp during his most creative period.
