Album US 1952 on Capitol Records label
Jazz (Space-Age, Avant-garde Jazz)
1st US 10" LP pressing with purple labels with silver text and ring with "Long Playing (33 1/3 RPM) Microgroove" on bottom edge. This label was in use on US 10" and 12" LPs circa 1950-1953 when it was replaced with a similar label, but on the new version the bottom rim text eliminates the circled "33 1/3 RPM" and "Microgroove", leaving only "Long Playing" (see: City Of Glass) This record was also also issued as a 78rpm album (FBR-353) and as a 45rpm EP set (EBF-353). In 1954, or later, it was reissued in the 10" LP format as L-353. (see: City Of Glass) The 10" covers used the 45 slick pasted over a "wood textured" frame that was consistent with 10" LPs that were being concurrently released as 45 box sets. First pressing was the UK version issued in 1951 per: City Of Glass. The UK version notes "The Stan Kenton Orchestra" on the back. The back of this submission notes only as "An augmented Kenton orchestra..." within the Liner Notes.
