Album US 1977 on Aardwoof Records label
Jazz (Free Improvisation)
Surrealestate came into existence when I invited several musicians I had played with to get together and improvise. Mike S, Tom, Warren and I had played together in the Lincoln Improvisation Ensemble. Mike M and I attended Berklee the same year (without meeting each other). Enthusiasm for playing grew and, during the summer of '77, some combination of musicians met about six days a week. The culmination of this work is the album you're now holding. Surrealestate has performed at the University of Nebraska, on a local radio station, and at two concerts (with an admission charge) by the group. Mike Bergstraesser is credited in the liner notes insert and contributed a short paragraph explaining the improvisational music.
