Album US 2013 on Subterranean Tide label
Electronic (Ambient, Drone)
When you enter the realm of sounds, designed by Bobby Jones you can only stare in awe. There is always a raw emotion flowing at the surface that penetrates your inside deeply. And you feel drawn to it, like a powerful magnet. And this sculpture that feels raw becomes transparent. What at first feels so strong is after all very fragile. This is, what I think Bobby Jones shows in all its glory. And this apparent contradicting feeling of bleakness and passion, is at the core of being. What I find even more curious is the fact that very few sculptures of sound transmit this sensation. Bobby Jones, through his moniker I’ve Lost is one of them. I have had the pleasure of working with Bobby in a couple of releases, and I even wrote a set of poems inspired by his music. Planets with Two Suns have Black Trees is his most recent album, and as with previous work, he comes back again to is recurring themes – ah, the desert - like he has been spiraling, over and over, on the same subjects, on the same sounds, on the same chords, on the same guitar. And it doesn’t matter, because it is always a bright and dark new world awaiting to be discovered. ~Leonardo Rosado Not from the stars do I my judgment pluck, And yet methinks I have astronomy; But not to tell of good or evil luck, Of plagues, of dearths, or seasons' quality; Nor can I fortune to brief minutes tell, Pointing to each his thunder, rain, and wind, Or say with princes if it shall go well By oft predict that I in heaven find. But from thine eyes my knowledge I derive, And, constant stars, in them I read such art As truth and beauty shall together thrive If from thyself to store thou wouldst convert: Or else of thee this I prognosticate, Thy end is truth's and beauty's doom and date. ~Shakespeare, Sonnet 14
