Album US 1975 on Enja Records label
Jazz (Hard-Bop)
Location: Live at the Berlin Jazz Festival, except LAMENT Date: October 29, 1965 (LAMENT May 27, 1975) This record has special significance to me. As I know the many emotional things that transpired before this 1965 Berlin Festival. A major heartbreak was the death of George Tucker in New York City. He was to have recorded with Booker in Germany. There were many other emotional problems with this concert. Booker's solo clearly shows the artistry of jazz. All great musicians can interpret music but only jazz artists can improvise and put forth their true emotions musically. Thanks to Kenny Drew, Nils-Henning Pedersen, Alan Dawson and Horace Parlan a great wish of mine. The release of this recording, has been fulfilled.
