Single US 1990 on Public Bath label
Electronic and Rock (Noise, Psychedelic Rock)
Hand-numbered in red pen on back cover. 7" single with insert. Text from the original insert: The Boredoms--"Michidai"/"Fuanteidai" PB-3 This tape was stolen from the Boredoms' secret recording sessions for the Boretronix cassette releases. As a consequence, microphone and tape hiss, amplifier buzz, and record surface noise are all an organic part of your total listening experience. You may find it helpful to intentaionally scratch your favorite portion. When the Boredoms find out that this has been released, there's no telling what might happen. Participants on this record include Eye, Yamamoto, Hira, Chuji, maybe Yoshimi, maybe Yoshikawa, and possibly a few others, including the incredible God Mama. Who knows? The jacket design was stolen from a design by Yoshimi for an unreleased UFO Or Die record. When she finds out... All rights reserved by the Boredoms and Public Bath 1990. Thanks to Eye and all the Boredoms, B. and Sean in Madison. Additional liner notes and credits by David Hopkins published in the Release History on Oct' 2014: The design is by Yamatsuka Eye, but the letters of the band name were drawn by David Public of Public Bath. Chuji is probably Hasegawa Chew. Public Bath was planning to release a UFO or Die 7", but the tape from Eye was terrible. Other side of the tape was a working demo version of other early Boredoms songs, whose titles could not be confirmed at the time, thus "Michi" or unknown and "Fuantei" or unstable. "Dai" means title. Eye okayed the substitution and release but the band weren't happy with the lo-fi result. Follow-up details published by David Hopkins in June 2017: My original objection to the use of "stolen" was that someone had written that the design was stolen from Yoshimi. That was not true. The design was for a UFO or Die 7" that never appeared and was repurposed for this release. The liner notes say the tape was "stolen," but actually, it was the same cassette as the rejected UFO or Die sounds, but a different place on the tape.
