Boumag is a French free improvised jazz duo, established in 1994 by saxophohist Véronique Magdelenat and drummer Luc Bouquet. The ensemble had been regularly performing around France for many years, at clubs and venues like AJMI, Le Petit Faucheux, Pannonica, Nantes, Charlie Free in Vitrolles, Agapes in Lyon, Archipel in Lauret, and the Laboratory in Marseille. In 2002, Boumag released their debut album, A3, featuring a number of improvised trios with Raymond Boni, Rémy Charmasson (guitars), Bernard Santacruz (double bass) and Christine Wodrascka (piano). Bouquet and Magdelenat also collaborated in a few other projects, including Double Duo quartet with Christine Wodrascka and Ramón López, and ANIMA with saxophonists Frank Lowe, Lionel Garcin, and bassist Bernard Santacruz.
