The Ensemble "Braća Benc" was founded in 1960 under the name Narodni ansambl ''Braća Benc'', afterwards it changed its name into Tamburaški sastav ''Braća Benci''. The Ensemble was active until 1988. The founders were the brothers Benci (several brothers and cousins), the main song author and vocalist were Pero i Ivo Benc. They were very popular between 1965 and 1990, performing mainly traditional kajkavian songs from the Croatian region Hrvatsko zagorje. The Ensemble was the 1st in Zagorje that actually recorded a record. All together Tamburaški sastav ''Braća Benci'' released 8 records, the 1st one (EPY 3945 by Jugoton, Zagreb) in 1968.
