Braindead was a Portuguese rock group from Lisboa, started as a trash metal band in the late eighties, recording and releasing the demos tapes "The Final Judgement" and "The Human Remnants Of..." both in 1988, the group disbanded in 1992 due to creative differences and reformed in 1992 as alternative rock/funk group, with Marco Franco being replaced by Guilherme Gonçalves da Silva on drums, the group achieved a moderate commercial success in Portugal, releasing "Blend" in 1993 and "Room Landscapes" in 1994, disbanding in the following year. Most of the group members continued on playing music, with João Nobre forming Da Weasel a highly successful rap/rock group, Vasco Vaz joined Portuguese alt.rock group Mão Morta and Nuno Espiríto Santo eventually became part of the live band of Portuguese folk icon Sérgio Godinho.
