Band,
A.k.a. Tom Nice (née Stewart) Tomas
Breaking The Illusion (B.T.I) is the brainchild of artist/producer Tom Nice (née Stewart), a man of many musical mannerisms. Beginning his legacy with a release under Warp Records (Nightmares On Wax' 'Dextrous') and Play Hard Records 'Can You Understand/Drop The Mic', he soon went on to found the infamous Low Life Records (with former partner Oddball of The Kaliphz, and Braintax) which established UK legends such as Jehst and Skinnyman. Over the next two decades his career only soared, supporting big acts like Lily Allen and Professor Green, working with Femi Fem of the Young Disciples and Hinda Hicks to producing Keith Lemon's debut single "I Wanna Go On You" which debuted in the UK Charts. On top of that, B.T.I has maintained a strong track record including BBC Radio 1 'Album of the Week' on Huw Stephens' show, Carling Festival 'Best Overall Unsigned Performance' Award, three MOBO Nominations and Glastonbury 'Emerging Talent' Finalist. As a self-committed 'Golden Age' evangelist, he cites likes of beat pioneers such as Jam & Lewis, Pete Rock, J-Dilla , DJ Premier and lyricists Pharoahe Monch, Redman, and Jay-Z amongst others, as strong influences on his style and sound. Having pursued the more technical aspects of production, Tom has been involved in the development of many popular tracks and remixes. He also has began to expand into more electronic genres, as well as a return to his Techno/Deep House roots under various monikers.
