Brian Lassiter was an active figure in Atlanta's Hip-hop and rap music scene from 1983-2013. His career has spanned across jobs as an audio engineer, owner of Downstairs Productions from 1983-1988 that recorded many of the first generation hip-hop artists from metro Atlanta and was co-owner of World Premiere Records from 1986-1989. He took a brief hiatus from the music business and returned in 1993 working as a music journalist, record promoter, Indie label distributor and consultant. From 1993 - 2013, he worked with over 60 indie labels and had ten consecutive years from 1997-2007 of at least one indie single on the Billboard charts. Over the years he assembled a large collection of vinyl, magazines, CD's, cassettes and photos.
