Album US 2001 on HalTapes label
Electronic (Abstract, Experimental)
Notes by Hal McGee: In October 2001 I visited Brian Noring at F.D.R. Recordings Headquarters in Des Moines, Iowa. During our week together we made several hours of tape recordings of our musical and extra-musical activities: tapes of free form live improvisations with shortwave radio, Casio and Yamaha keyboards, Moog Sonic Six synthesizer, trash percussion, flute and acoustic guitars; tapes of in-between jam warming-up and conversation; walks along train tracks and on the streets of Des Moines; driving around town, talking about various banal topics, and eating in restaurants; and various domestic and incidental sounds. We took these tapes, segmented and fragmented them, layered, re-sequenced and re-contextualized them, using random chance process methods.
