Britta Byström

Britta Byström (born in 1977) began her composition studies at the early age of 14, winning her first competition two years later. She completed her studies under Pär Lindgren and Bent Sörensen at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm (1995-2001). She has mainly composed orchestral works, but also chamber music and choral pieces as well as a chamber opera, "If you've lost your baggage", which toured Sweden in 2004. Byström's music has been performed by the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Kroumata Percussion Ensemble, the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra and many other ensembles.
