Musician of Rock and Jazz
Born 29th July 1956 in Saint-Etienne, France Saxophonist and co-founder of French band Les I (1979-1985) ; former member of Etron Fou Leloublan (1981-1983). Co-founded the duo Bruniferd with its bass player, Ferdinand Richard (1984-1998). Co-founded Zero Pop (1985-1994) with guitarist Mark Howell in New York in 1986 with the succesive collaborations of Ikue Mori, Jim Meneses, Evan Gallagher and Bruce Golden on drums. Participation in various musical ensembles including: Mécanium, Voyages Extraordinaires, saxophone duo Ni Trêve, Ni Relâche (1984-1991), Le Vaste Océan (trio formed in 1996 with drummer Dominique Lentin and bassist Cyrille Cauvet), Siphono, electronic duo formed in 1998 with Toshimaru Nakamura. Has performed solo since 1976, and produced music for dance, theater and video. Artistic director of the Festival Des Musiques Innovatrices of Saint-Etienne (first edition in 1987) and of the association ToTo N'aime pas la Soupe (which has programmed more than 100 events), and runs the label SMI (10 references). Collaborations with the records distribution company ORKHÊSTRA and the Jazz Festival of Rive-de-Gier.
