He and four friends formed "Pure Habit", a popular rock band in the early 70's, and entertained at dances and various hotels in the area, with 'Jess' handling vocals. Moved to Australia in 1978 to teach hockey and, of course, his guitar accompanied him and his new bride. While charming the Aussies in his spare time, he gained inspiration to assemble lyrics and write tunes for the collection of his over 40 songs? Returned to Canada in 1980 and settled in Elliot Lake. Ontario, where he worked in the mining industry. On weekends, he began playing his style of music in Legion Halls around the area and become known as the “OUTLAW JESSE JAMES". Through the addition of some electronic equipment, he has become a ONE-MAN BAND, and still performs every weekend in the area covering Sault Ste. Marie to Sudbury including North Bay, Parry Sound and Bancroft. It had long been a dream to expand his audience, however, until his talent was recognized by Gary Buck, a well-known Canadian Country Legend, he was limited. Gary immediately picked seven of Bryan’s originals and, along with three remakes of other artists, swept him off to nashville to record. In having a portion of his dream fulfilled by this professional recording, he realizes the potential of reaching a wider audience and hopes that his style of writing and singing, that are so much a part of him, can be enjoyed right across Canada.
