Written by Benjamin Shingler Actor: Kelly Rigole Music by Bubblegum Phantom Illustrated by Tyson Bodnarchuk The Assembly is an Indyish Film and Music Relay that took place between February 10th and March 10th in Montreal, QC, Canada. It's a collaborative artistic challenge that grew out of the popular 24 Hour Music Video Making Competitions held during Indyish's Community Arts Weekends. On February 10th, seven screenwriters were given the lyrics to a rock opera piece, written by local filmmaker/musician, Stephen Taylor. Each writer had one week to take 5 elements from the opera and write a short film script. On February 17th, the scripts were handed to seven filmmaking teams to shoot and edit in one week. The films could be between 5-10 minutes long. On February 24th, the films were given to seven groups of musicians to write corresponding scores. While the seven projects were being handed from team to team, 7 illustrators were each given a script to create an image for, while another 2 artists drew illustrations for the rock opera. These images, along with the original scripts, were put together to form The Assembly Scriptbook.
