Brandon, Florida-based bassist, vocalist and songwriter. Best known for his work with Mercy (4). Growing up Buddy and, his close friend, James Marvell would while away the hours singing and writing songs together. Buddy & James wrote many songs during their teenage years and even had songs published by The Isley Brothers’ publishing company in New York.. It was during these teen years that Buddy and James formed their first group The Scopes. They released a song co-written by their manager John Centinaro titled “She’s Got Bad Breath.” Scope mouthwash banned the song and the duo changed their group name to The Surprize. The Surprize went on to release a 60's Garage band classic “I Will Make History”, with an immortal fuzz riff that hooks the listener immediately. Around 1968 Surprize members James Marvell, Buddy Good with their drummer Roger Fuentes joined Mercy (4) and recorded the million seller “Love Can Make You Happy” written by Mercy founder Jack Sigler, Jr.. After Mercy, Marvell & Good went on to form The Country Cavaleers. The Country Cavaleers were seen as an oddity because of the duo's long hair. “You’ve got to remember it was right after the movie Easy Rider,” explains Marvell. But thanks to their manager John Centinaro, they got the chance to perform with such major stars as Faron Young, Freddy Fender, Barbara Mandrell, Conway Twitty, Loretta Lynn and many of the Grand Ole Opry legends. TV appearances included ABC’s Wilburn Brothers plus several of the early morning Ralph Emery TV shows at WSM. Future stars Don Williams and Dickie Lee produced their first record. The MGM/CSA recording duo Country Cavaleers disbanded in 1976.
