Buon Vecchio Charlie was an Italian progressive rock band, formed in Rome in 1970. The original line-up consisted in Luigi Calabrò on vocals and guitar, Sandro Centofanti on keyboards, Walter Bernardi on bass, Rino Sangiorgio on drums and Carlo Visca on percussions. Later the Italian guitarist of British origin Richard Benson joined the band, bassist Paolo Damiani and flautist and saxophonist Sandro Cesaroni replaced Benardi and Visca. In 1971 the band recorded their first and last album: "Buon Vecchio Charlie". The album was recorded for the Venice-based Suono label but never saw the light of day; a year later, the group had already disbanded. The album, which had been shelved for over twenty years, was finally unearthed by Melos in 1990; Italian label Akarma also re-issued it in '99 with two extra tracks.
