This album was written in motion. The versions featured here each came to life during the recording process in Nashville (with the help of Dave, Libby, Enoch, Erin and Morgan), but each was initially conceived on the road and meant to represent a mobile experience. The birthplaces are listed below. These songs were written on roadsides, at beaches, in parking lots, on walks, in hallways, in parks, on the couches of friends during the course of a year when I took the whole of America as my neighborhood and my license plate as my address.
