The group was founded in 1970 as CADDY LTD. founded in Hannover, Germany by four students of the local university. They met in a small dorm under the roof and skiffed "just for fun". The first instruments were guitar, banjo and two pots. The instrumentation was soon supplemented by a washboard, a tea box with broomstick and clothesline became bass, the skiffle group was complete. The CADDIES have been one of the longest-serving Skiffle Groups in Northern Germany after 46 years of their existence, but have remained faithful to their musical roots, skiffle music.
