Before moving to London, he grew up in Midwest America between Kansas City and Nashville and spent his formative years playing in rock bands and working on demos and small releases for local acts. In January 2012, he began working full time as a freelance sound engineer including work for Mr Hudson at his private studio in North London as his in-house engineer.
