Album UK 2016 on SVS Records label
Electronic (New Wave, Darkwave, Rhythmic Noise, Leftfield)
Boomkat writes: "Spiky but sweet avant-pops on the edge of ’80 minimal wave, psychedelia and enchanted electronics, arriving fully formed by Camila De Laborde (Camila Fuchs) as a special hook-up between Schamoni Musik, SVS and The Lumen Lake labels. Sounding to our tastebuds like Julia Holter chowing down on mushies with Tomutonttu, or ÈLG’s alter-gender-ego, Opuntia is a fantasia of alternately curdled and brittle circuit-bent electronics mixed with metallic instrumentation suspending Camila’s hushed vocals right at the centre of the mix, where she alternately slithers like a possessed Jenny Hval or baffles like some mad scientist overheard executing alchemic experiments in the lab. Under an unnerving patina of scrunched electronic glitches, Camila strokes exquisitely slow and sylvan arrangements of chamber like phrases on sliding, discordant scales, adding up to the nerve-jangling electronics and heavy lidded loops of The Blue Stone to the delectable dissonance of We Are Conducting on the A-side, whereas You Couldn’t Build That, You Couldn’t Pretend transitions from her saltiest, squashed tones to fizzing coldwave via bluntly expressive plainchant vox and, likewise, Him. Solid conjures some deep fired blend of ÈLG’s worldly oddness and the tang of John Bender." --- For more information on Camila De Laborde and the upcoming Album "Singing From Fixed Rung" as Camila Fuchs, see: www.camilafuchs.com
