Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and now living in Cologne, Germany, Camilla Hoitenga is a flautist, improviser and composer who specialises in modern repertoire. She has collabarated with Kaija Saariaho, Karlheinz Stockhausen, and Anne LeBaron, and has pieces dedicated to her by Miyuki Ito, Ken-Ichiro Kobayashi, Harue Kondoh, Takehito Shimazu, Mart Siimer, and Bryan Wolf. Hoitenga travels internationally as a performer and has taught at the State University of New York and at the Folkwang Hochschule Essen.
