Having groovemetal at their base (inspired by bands like Devildriver and Lamb of god) the music by Captivity is also characterized by influences from other extreme metalgenres. Captivity came into being during the spring of 2012 and started as a collaboration between guitarists Joeri Doeleman en Jens van de Haterd. Their goal was to make heavy, no-nonsense groovemetal and to make it as far as possible in the metalscene. With vocalist Richard Donné, bassplayer Mees Tiebosch, and drummer Mathijs Schmidt joining the band became a full force, ready to damage your hearing! Beware and prepare for inevitably exploding eardrums because Captivity is coming your way!
