In Sant Julià de Vilatorta (Osona, Barcelona), the caramelles were originated within the Confraternity of the Roser ( La Confradia del Roser), founded in 1590 and sealed by the founding bull dated 23 February of 1592 which is preserved in the Archives of Vic City. The caramelles are an alive festival, rooted and widespread throughout Catalonia and constitute one of the identifying characteristics of Catalan customs. Despite the diversity of detail they provide, there are some common characteristics that define: -The caramelles are singing greeting spring made by a group of singers, the streets and squares of cities and towns, the morning of Easter. -The caramelles were dressed in traditional festive and often accompanied by an instrumental ensemble; treats them as a reward or grocery money. Since then, every year without interruption, has been practicing this tradition and has become one of the main festivals of our calendar. In addition to be the oldest institution, the Caramelles del Roser of Sant Julià de Vilatorta have characteristics that make them unique: -The song of "Els Goigs del Roser". -The clothing. -The premiere of a new piece each year specifically composed.
