A.k.a. Carl Gustaf Boberg
Swedish poet and writer (August 16, 1859 – January 17, 1940). He is best known for writing the Swedish poem of "O Store Gud" (O great God) from which the English language hymn "How Great Thou Art" is derived. Boberg was born in Mönsterås, Kalmar county in Småland. He served as the editor of the weekly Christian newspaper, Sanningsvittnet (Witness of the Truth) [1890-1916]. He also served in the Swedish parliament (1912-1931). His works include several volumes of poetry and many hymns (over 60 poems, hymns & gospel songs). He also helped compile the first two hymnals of the Swedish Covenant church.
